Preschoolers and parents are going to fall for the foliage at GRACE this October as we introduce Artful Autumn.
Due to the great success of our preschool art camp, we invited Julie Liddle, founder of Art in Hand, back to lead another set of classes at GRACE. This past summer, the kids really made a splash at the gallery and the art was fabulous as well. We were compelled to bring her creativity, talents, and knowledge back to our members and the community. Julie’s 45 minute classes are packed with developmentally appropriate art projects that allow preschoolers to find inspiration in literature and nature, and to explore innovative approaches with traditional art materials as well as natural and found objects. Julie will use stories and art-making inspired by the bounty of beautiful sights and sensations that autumn brings as the foundation of the 4 part series of classes.
While at the gallery, children will be surrounded by the magnificent landscape paintings of Freya Grand. The exhibition, Journey, will be on view in the gallery from September 30 through November 12. Please check our website for other programs and workshops held during this exhibition including Appetite for Art, Super Studio and a special performance by the Jane Franklin Dance Company.
Session meets: Tuesdays, October 5, 12,19, and 26 from 10-10:45 am at Greater Reston Arts Center.
This is a parent-child class for children of all levels and abilities ages 3-6. Sibling pairs are welcome.
