This past week has been a flurry of creativity at GRACE with two workshops with Pam Rogers: a Family Weekend Workshop for kids and a Creativity Challenge for adults.
The Family Weekend Workshop started with a walk around the exhibition. Pam talked to the students about the hidden treasures in her sculptural works and the use of natural materials. Afterwards they headed to the Learning Center for a unique art-making challenge.
Using petals, leaves, sticks, and pine needles, the students set out to develop unique drawings. Pam mixed pigments and taught them to use non-traditional materials as mark-making tools. The students took to the challenge and created some wonderful works.
The Creativity Challenge tasked the adults with developing their own sculptural works using the same techniques that Pam employs in her art-making. The Learning Center was full of beautiful greenery and blooms that would soon be transformed into an array of three-dimensional works.
And don’t forget about Appetite for Art. This Monday, December 10 at 10:30am join us for an intimate discussion with Pam Rogers about her work. Light refreshments will be served.
